Battle of the Reds

Red is a such a ubiquitous nail color that it can be quite daunting to choose the right one. What's the difference between oxblood and burgundy? Is this a cool red or a warm red? Our "Battle of the Reds" comparison will help you distinguish the difference between our crimson cremes. Let's take a look at the following 5 shades (you can click on the name to be taken to it's product page): EMPIRE STATE OF MIND - an oxblood red creme ROUGE ROCKEFELLER - a burgundy red creme THE DEVIL WEARS CIRQUE - a medium red creme DOYERS - a bright cherry red creme RITA (retired) - a tomato red creme As you can see from the bottle photos, EMPIRE STATE OF MIND and ROUGE ROCKEFELLER look like dupes, while DOYERS and RITA appear pretty close too. Keep in mind that bottle shots can be a bit misleading because it doesn't show the nuances of each shade as if you're painting your nails.  On the nail swatches, EMPIRE STATE OF MIND is noticeably darker and almost brown (thus the description "oxblood"). ROUGE ROCKEFELLER is a wine/bordeaux type red and can be quite a chameleon on the nail. The formula is slightly translucent which allows light to penetrate it more and can appear brighter in certain lighting. Falling in the middle of the spectrum is THE DEVIL WEARS CIRQUE, our classic medium red. And finally, our brightest 2 reds show their difference due to the slight translucency of RITA which makes it appear brighter than DOYERS. Do you have a Cirque Colors favorite?
